The Standard Wash (Wet Cleaning)
This is your everyday process using water, detergent, and mechanical agitation.
- Best for: Cotton t-shirts, bedsheets, towels, and gym wear.
- The Goal: Removing dirt, sweat, and odors from durable fabrics.
The Dry Cleaning Process
Contrary to the name, dry cleaning isn't "dry"—it just doesn't use water. Instead, it uses a specialized liquid solvent that dissolves oils and stains without swelling the fibers.
- Best for: Suits, silk dresses, wool coats, and anything with intricate beadwork or linings.
- Why choose it? Water can cause certain fabrics (like rayon or wool) to shrink, lose their shape, or bleed colors. Dry cleaning preserves the "structure" of the garment.
The Rule of Thumb: If it’s expensive, sentimental, or has a complex shape (like a blazer), play it safe and opt for Dry Cleaning.
